OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is looking for an experienced Proposal Director to join our Central Marketing Services team to support Business Development efforts across our company. The position will be based out of Merrick's headquarters office in Greenwood Village, CO. On a case-by-case basis, Merrick offers a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work from home and in the office. Merrick & Company is an employee-owned, Top 100 ENR firm and is seeking a Proposal Director to lead our growing pursuits team. The Proposal Director will work closely with our proposal team, business unit leaders and business development staff to create strong and compelling pursuit documents that deliver continual backlog for Merrick. The Proposal Director will also lead our proposal team in enterprise strategy, team development, process improvement and technology integration. This is a new position and reports to the Vice President, Business Development. Typical salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $165,000.00. Lead our proposal team to be an integral part of the sales process Direct and oversee the development of high-quality proposals with strong win themes Manage overall proposal workload and staffing Guide the proposal team in professional development Participate in reviews of strategic or significant pursuits Interact with business unit leaders and business development team members to create marketing/operational team alignment Collaborate with the proposal and operational teams to develop efficient and effective pursuit processes, leverage feedback to inform improvements Connect with business development professionals to understand and support growth strategy Lead shortlist interview preparation Identify and champion technology integration to support creativity, quality and efficiency Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will be a team player, enthusiastic about leading a team, and is forward thinking. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field. Minimum of ten (10) years of proposal production experience. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the architecture/engineering industry. Minimum of five (5) years of proposal team management. Experience with a CRM system. Must have strong leadership and strategy capabilities. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite. Writing samples/portfolio may be requested if selected for an interview Ability to travel for professional development conferences Client projects for this position require US Citizenship DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or relevant Masters degree Experience with both private industry and government SF330 proposals preferred PERKS
