We are looking to add a
Production Manager
to our team. The candidate for this role will be responsible for providing direct oversight over our front-end assembly processes and will have experience in CNC machining operations as well as SMT assembly of electronic circuits. In this position, you will direct efforts while establishing production processes that enable Cesium's rapid growth and maintain cost efficiency. Core job functions will include leading teams of assemblers, technicians, engineers, and inspectors in developing and executing production processes to support machined parts and PCBA fabrications from the prototype phase through customer delivery. These core functions will also include developing strong manufacturing systems through detailed process documentation, configuration management, vendor management, and lean manufacturing principles. Additionally, your analytical skills will contribute strongly, as you provide deep insight into spending patterns, trends, and cost reduction potential.
Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the company. You will work closely with the engineering team, program management, and Operations leadership to industrialize space products for a growing market that combines the rigor of space with the scale of commercial electronics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESIn this position, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of Cesium's diverse array of electronic assemblies for satellites and other aerospace platforms.Manage production for fabricated mechanical parts (machining, finishing, plating, etc.), SMT electronic assemblies, and supplier outside processing, while maintaining tight inventory and quality controls.Collaborate with design engineering to transition prototype designs to production.Build and manage production schedules while ensuring projects stay within budget and deadlines.Improve and implement policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep our organization accident-free.JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.3 years of production management experience in electronics manufacturing of aerospace or other high reliability products.Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to be a true builder and innovator of ideas and strategic growth strategies.The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally and collaborate across the organization.Ability to spearhead continuous improvement efforts that adhere to the AS9100 standard.You have the natural ability to lead and mentor others, and enjoy creating a collaborative, inventive, and high-energy dynamic environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Proficiency in AS9100/ISO9001 quality management system requirements.Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies.Experience at a rapidly growing startup company.
