Job Title: Plate Mounting Technician
Job Description
To ensure the ordering, inspection, care, and maintenance of plate inventory are appropriate for delivering quality plates to the mounting department. Maintain inventory of all print sleeves and bridge carriers. Ensure that mounting and plate technologies and processes are appropriate for delivering quality mounts to press. Participate in Pre-Production meetings, Pre-flighting, and Prepro schedule.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret specifications on job envelope.Clean and prepare plates and sleeves for mounting.Mount backing (sticky back) on sleeve per instructions.Wrap and label finished product.Load on cart to be taken to the press or to storage.Inspect cylinders and gears for defects and report to Shift Supervisor.Demount cylinders as necessary.Maintain an organized, clean work area at all times.Essential SkillsMounting, maintenance repair, inspection, inventory control.Experience in industrial printing.Mechanical skills and hand tool usage.Ability to use a measuring tape.Attention to detail.Ability to read and write.Familiarity with the press.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommunicates effectively one to one and in small groups.Highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects.Analytical and critical thinking skills with an aptitude to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements.Why Work Here?

Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am rotating, 2-2-3 schedule. Working conditions include strong odors from inks and solvents in the plant. Frequent standing and walking during working hours. Frequent sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (8+ hours/day). Ability to repeatedly lift up to 80 pounds. Ability to operate overhead hoist system to move cylinders weighing in excess of 200 pounds. Overtime may be required.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.
