Aviation Practice Leader ID 2024-1811 Job Locations US Remote Yes Overview The Practice Leader will spearhead and drive profitable growth within a specifically defined practice area, positioning Woolpert as an industry leader. This role is central to establishing and growing Woolpert's market presence and revenue in the aviation sector through strategic client engagement, business development, and team leadership Responsibilities Practice Management Oversee and manage profit and loss for the defined practice area, aligning financial goals with the service line and overall business strategy. Develop new business opportunities by identifying client needs that match Woolpert's strategic goals, building strong relationships to unlock additional revenue streams within the practice and across other service lines. Lead go/no-go decisions for prospective projects and create marketing strategies to reach sales goals, driving market penetration. Build Woolpert's presence through participation in industry conferences, trade events, and civic engagements. Present and publish thought leadership to strengthen industry visibility and credibility. Client Engagement Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with clients to understand market needs and set clear client expectations. Partner with clients to identify potential sales opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Lead Woolpert's representation at relevant industry functions to maintain an influential marketplace presence. People Leadership Hire, mentor, and develop project managers and directors, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Set performance goals for team members, providing regular feedback and conflict resolution as needed. Mentor and coach team members to achieve individual and practice area goals. Project Management Support Collaborate with project managers on contract terms, schedules, fees, and project scope to ensure alignment with client and practice goals. Provide oversight and support in proposal preparation, interviews, and presentations for prospective clients. Actively resolve project-related issues in close coordination with project managers to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to project goals. This role does not directly manage projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 12 years of related experience, Master's degree with 10 years of related experience, or 16 years of industry experience in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated ability to lead with an innovative, enterprising approach. Proven leadership skills with high-level interpersonal abilities to establish rapport with clients and team members. Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities. Effective communicator with excellent presentation skills, both oral and written. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled in managing multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to travel as needed to meet practice demands. Ability to sit for extended periods. Proficient with standard office equipment and able to occasionally reach, bend, climb, and balance. Able to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
