Yard Jockey/Shuttle Driver - Home Daily

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Yard Jockey/Shuttle Driver - Home Daily - 166816 Starting Pay: \$28.40 per hour and .62/mile Union Benefits & Pension Position Purpose: * Responsible for moving trailers on the premises using a yard jockey or tractor, starting trailer refrigeration units, preparing trailers for deliveries. This position also covers local deliveries when necessary. Essential Functions & Basic Duties: * Sets trailers in dock doors for loading product * Starts refrigeration units; checks units periodically * Pulls loaded trailers away from dock and secures trailer doors * Coordinates loading schedules with warehouse supervisors * Occasionally makes local deliveries * Shuttles trailers between UNFI local buildings * Operates powered industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks when necessary * Performs other duties as necessary and required All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. VEVRAA Federal Contractor. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: * Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state specific Commercial Driver\'s License, Class A. * Ability to pass a written exam and road test. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: * Understanding of related computer applications. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Prefer minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer. Must be 21 years of age.
