We are looking for a talented Staff QA Engineer - you will play a critical role in Leading design and implementation of the automation strategies across our public web site experiences, across SEO and SEM channels, and in partnership with all APFM's Engineering Teams. You will lead in developing the automated solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and support continuous integration and delivery processes.

This position reports to the QA Manager - Web Platform. You will leverage your expertise in Leading the technology to meticulously select the latest technologies, automation frameworks, and design patterns for implementation. Your role will involve providing visionary solutions and working collaboratively with a team of QA engineers tasked with testing Beacon applications (automation and manual testing) that connect with our families.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, outcome-oriented, technology-focused automation engineer and a team contributor with extensive experience in leading designing, developing and implementing automated solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Additionally, they demonstrate a strong partnership within the Web Platform team, ensuring alignment between technological innovation and product development goals.

What you will do:

Owner and champion for product quality within the team.Automation Scripting: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Measure and analyze automation test effectiveness through metrics like test coverage, defect detection rates, and pass/fail ratios.Optimize test execution time and improve time-to-detect defects for faster feedback loops.Assess the ROI of automation efforts, balancing maintenance costs with overall benefits.Accountable for an assessment of product readiness and commitments on product delivery schedulesMentor Junior QA Engineers on the Lead Platform teams, providing strategic guidance and direction, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, while lifting skills to expedite automation testing coverageWork closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless integration of quality throughout the development lifecycle.Proficient in understanding business and technical requirements. Actively contribute to the creation of accurate and testable Acceptance CriteriasDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans for new features and product releasesChampion whole team quality approach guiding team management on accountability and growth opportunities on roadmap deliverables.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve software defectsQualifications

10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or 12+ years of experience in Leading Automated Software testing (front-end and back-end) with a strong understanding of software quality and Automated testing methodologies/processes.Technical Lead to Design, develop, and implement automated systems and solutions to improve process efficiency.Analyze existing processes and identify areas for automation opportunitiesExperience with any JS test automation frameworks (e.g., NodeJs, Cucumber-WebdriverIO, Appium, Selenium, Cypress-Cucumber, Mocha, Protractor and willingness to learn new tools as necessary), Cypress and WebdriverIO is preferredStrong ability to debug code, analyze failures, and trace defects to the root cause within automation testing frameworkExperience in automation and manual testing of Web services (Rest, GraphQL) using API testing tools such as Postman, GraphQL Playground or similar toolsWell versed with concepts of Performance & Load Testing with K6 is desirableExperience with database technologies like: MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB / Elasticsearch along with a knowledge of Database testingExperience practicing contemporary software development methodologies: Agile, Scrum, XP, etc. with a clear focus on app security, performance & maintainability.#LI-AR1
