Join our PetMeds/PetCareRX ( PETS ) team as the
UX Designer
and be a driving force in our digital retail success. At PetMeds, we're on a mission to transform digital experiences, making it easier and more enjoyable for pet parents to care for their furry family members. As a UX Designer, you'll blend creativity with innovation to craft customer-focused solutions that simplify and elevate the shopping journey. You'll work closely with our Product and Engineering teams, turning business goals and customer insights into polished, user-friendly designs. Throughout the design and development process, your keen design sense, technical curiosity, and determination will drive you to create experiences that delight beyond expectations. This is a hybrid role. Must be able to commute to either our Delray Beach, FL or Lynbrook, NY corporate offices 3x per week. Key Responsibilities: Create New Experiences (70%) Dig Deep:
Ask insightful questions to uncover the root causes of challenges, then translate those insights into intuitive, user-centered designs that align with business KPIs. Stay Ahead:
Identify unmet customer needs and monitor external trends to stay ahead of customer expectations. Design with Purpose:
Independently create sketches, concepts, wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that vividly showcase the customer journey. Collaborate & Innovate:
Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams to tackle complex problems, using design thinking exercises to craft positive customer experiences. Enhance & Optimize:
Analyze user feedback and behavior, refining designs to enhance the overall experience. Test & Learn:
Conduct thorough user testing (qualitative and quantitative) to guide design decisions and resolve usability issues. Be Proactive:
Gather customer feedback from sources like TrustPilot, BBB, usability tests, A/B testing, and analytics to anticipate future needs. Support Development Efforts (20%) Design Beautifully:
Create visually appealing, user-friendly designs that emphasize clarity, minimizing the need for written instructions. Streamline Handoffs:
Use our design system or create new components to ensure a smooth transition between design and development. Focus on Precision:
Deliver pixel-perfect specifications and develop user flows that connect multiple user stories seamlessly. Craft Clear Microcopy:
Write concise, helpful microcopy that aligns with users' mental models and clarifies our products. Engage Through Animation:
Leverage interactive animations based on industry best practices to enhance user engagement. Communication & Presentation (10%) Defend Your Designs:
Clearly articulate and justify your design decisions, breaking down features into MVPs that deliver immediate value. Foster Alignment:
Effectively communicate across teams (Product, Data and Engineering) to ensure everyone is aligned and informed. Partner with Precision:
Work closely with the FED team to ensure design solutions are executed flawlessly. Engage Leadership:
Concisely communicate with eCommerce leadership to gather feedback and secure buy-in for design initiatives. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Experienced Designer:
6+ years in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates your ability to apply core UX design principles (user flows, wireframing, visual design, prototyping) to create end-to-end experiences. Skills & Competencies: Tool Proficiency:
Expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Miro, Principle, etc. Data-Driven:
A history of using data to inform and drive design decisions. Multitasker:
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Effective Communicator:
Strong communication skills, with experience directing teams to ensure alignment across departments (Merchandising, Product Management, Engineering). Curious Problem Solver:
