Job Summary:

The Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and improving several key database-driven applications, including, but not limited to, the Epicor Kinetic ERP system and FileMaker Databases, by performing upgrades, data migrations, and the creation of informational and Visual Factory dashboards. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working well with others and be familiar with various tools for data manipulation, to include (but not limited to) PowerShell, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, as well as familiarity with C# and SQL coding at least a basic knowledge level.

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

Creates, modifies, and maintains databases and database-related applications utilizing the company’s primary manufacturing software solutions including, but not limited to, FileMaker and Epicor Kinetic

Build, deploy, and troubleshoot informational dashboards and reports in the ERP system

Establish and continue the development of in-house information systems to manage the daily flow of manufacturing data

Work closely with peers on implementation, testing, and configuring of new databases and front-end software in the company’s established information systems

Maintain existing SQL server databases and execute queries, updates, backups/restores as needed or required utilizing SQL Management Studio and other tools

Maintain and periodically refresh test and pilot databases in the ERP system

Work with the company's existing Visual Factory displays and Power BI dashboards to meet current production demands, support the development and implementation of new solutions

Ensure that visual factory displays are showing concise, accurate, updated and relevant data to meet the production needs of their respective areas

Work with peers and other relevant stakeholders and consultants on the new implementation of and migration to the Epicor Kinetic ERP system, and future such implementations and migrations.

Collaborate with key stakeholders and consultants to develop effective ERP system processes, dashboards and reports

Submit and work support cases with outside support services as required

Manage effective security access groups & user management within such systems as FileMaker and Epicor

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending webinars, workshops, conferences and other training relevant to database systems, Visual Factory and other production needs

Work within the confines of NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0 Level 3, DFARS contractual requirements, and related security obligations and policies when implementing business processes, solutions, and software

Additional Qualifications:

1+ years’ experience with industry-standard programming concepts, including a basic familiarity with C#

1+ years’ experience managing SQL databases

Knowledge of ERP systems preferred

Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred

Experience with Manufacturing and lean manufacturing methods preferred

FileMaker Pro knowledge preferred but not required

On-call support as required, to be limited to systems under the Database Administrator’s purview, every other week rotation

Self-motivated, positive attitude, high energy, hands-on individual who can multi-task effectively

Requirements and Competencies:

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret SQL, C#, and other computer code. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the business through both verbal and written communication and work with key stakeholders and consultants on analyzing business needs to formulate solutions.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.

Educational Requirements:

BA/BS Degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Work Requirements:

Environment & Physical Demands:

Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and related equipment; noise level typical of a standard office environment

Prolonged sitting, computer use, as well as standing, filing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds

Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
