Leave of Absence Benefits Coordinator

The Leave of Absence Benefits Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day administration and customer service tasks of all leave of absence plans, along with ancillary health and welfare benefits administration duties.
Serves as primary point of contact for partner-employee leave requests, processing, and customer service to include FMLA, ADA, disability claims, workers’ compensation, and other company-specific, state, and federally mandated leaves. Oversees bi-weekly payroll tracking for partners on leave and maintains internal leave of absence records. Coordinates leave of absence requests with assigned leave of absence third-party administrator and disability carrier. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure impact and risk is mitigated. (65%)
Completes monthly benefits vendor invoicing and reconciliation processes. (15%)
Administers tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, partner-employee service award, and retirement recognition programs. (10%)
Handles ad hoc projects and special tasks as assigned by other members of the human resources team, including filing, administrative tasks, and assistance with other corporate initiatives, to include administration of the partner-employee wellness program. (10%)
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in human resource or business or related field preferred, but not required if applicable experience in the human resources field exists.
1 to 3 years of HR experience preferred with the majority of time spent on leave coordination.
HR-related certifications preferred, but not required (CCP, CEBS, CBP, SHRM, PHR, etc.).
Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code (benefit related), ADA, FMLA, HIPAA and COBRA regulations and a demonstrated continued learning focus.
Demonstrated problem solving and researching skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to ensure clear and concise engagement with partner-employees.
Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, while ensuring work product is accurate, delivered timely, and meets the simply extraordinary service standard of Wright-Patt Credit Union.
Strong knowledge and application in use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite products.
