University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join the pediatric hematology & oncology clinical practice. The University of Minnesota Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division supports a comprehensive clinical, research and education program with a focus on five core areas: classical hematology, leukemia, brain tumors, solid tumors (sarcomas) and childhood cancer survivorship. A longstanding and powerful collaboration with Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota allows our patients access to the latest advances in the treatment of cancer and diseases of the blood. In This Role, You Will: Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders. Have outpatient responsibilities at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and M Health Fairview Pediatric Specialty Clinics in Minneapolis, MN and potentially satellite clinics around the metro. Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose cancers and blood disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans. This role will focus on brain tumors, leukemia/lymphoma and hematology. Provide education to patients and families about their disease and treatment options. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to optimize patient care outcomes. Spend the first few months observing with providers in our division to learn pediatric hematology and oncology. We will develop an educational plan for you. Procedures performed: Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures will be required in the practice Schedule: Part Time - 0.8 FTE Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm (four days/week, days of the week still to be determined) No Call We're Looking For a PA or PNP Who Is: A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Pediatric of Family Nurse Practitioner training program. Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC, PNCB or AANP. Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's). Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. What Could Set You Apart: A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience in pediatrics.
