HDR’s Building Engineering Services team (BES) provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site civil, structural and specialty design services for a wide variety of buildings that include public, municipal, private, and Federal project types across the region and globally. With a team of experienced staff in specific market sectors such as Healthcare, Science and Technology, Data Centers, Higher Education, Federal, Transportation, Water, and Resources facilities, we provide engineering excellence for our clients. We have an industry leading focus on sustainable design and energy conservation.

The HDR BES group in Denver is looking for a BIM Model Manager to join our team.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of BIM Model Manager, we'll count on you to:Create and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)Be responsible for MEP Revit model setup when projects are initiatedMaintain the MEP discipline models including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, matchlines, views, and sheetsCreate and maintain the MEP discipline models, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for the MEP disciplinesGenerate the BIM elements, based on the Level of Development (LOD) outlined in the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project scopeExecute all other requirements identified in the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP)Create and maintain the MEP discipline models, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for the MEP disciplinesHave an advanced understanding of architectural and engineering documentation and plan presentation for all disciplinesAccurately model BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment using RevitPrepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams of the design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using RevitProduce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling outputMonitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health. Coordinate the design with other discipline models through design reviews and 3D coordination processesWork with clients or contractor representatives using the BIM model for review purposesUnderstand various project needs and how technology can be applied to address those needsContribute to the development of the Building Engineering Services (BES) business class digital needsPrepare and deliver BIM presentations at meetings and conferences internally or externally to clientsPerform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years drafting experience for buildings/facilities projects using Revit with proficiencyExtensive knowledge of BIM, design phases, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledgeExperience in BIM production (either building modeling or process piping modeling)Basic understanding of MEP disciplines and how they interact with other discipline designsNavisworks and BIM360 experience preferredLocal candidates are preferredAdvanced understanding of engineering or architectural conceptsKnowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specificationsExcellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experienceA minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) experienceComprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systemsAdvanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructureAdvanced skillset of 3D Coordination toolsAdvanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication toolsFamiliar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specificationsFamiliar with basic automation and programming applications for efficienciesFamiliar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applicationsFamiliar with content creation and management conceptsSuperior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essentialDemonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support
