JOB TITLE:
Assistant Coordinator, Special Events
JOB PURPOSE:
Plan, perform, coordinate, and schedule special event services for College of Business; including physical set-ups for activities and events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide logistical support for events sponsored by various departments, units, and centers throughout the College of Business, to include physical setup of tables, chairs, tablecloths, and signage, along with post-event cleanup among other similar duties. Order food and reserve rooms for events.Coordinate with customers during events to ensure needs are met.Maintain inventory records and order supplies; work with vendors as needed.May recommend equipment purchases.Work with Program Coordinator to get designs for posters, programs, name tags, and other materials, and get those assets printed and deployed appropriately and in a timely manner. Develop tabletop advertising timeline/calendar at the beginning of each semester, and deploy tabletop advertising throughout the semester.Communicate University and Wyoming Union policies and procedures to staff and customers.Communicate University, department and state regulations and standards for safety and sanitation to staff; monitor compliance.Provide courteous communication, assistance, and interaction with customers.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in staff meetings to coordinate operational functions, building usage and special event arrangements.Take appropriate action on personnel records and payroll forms.COMPETENCIES:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's degree
Experience:
2 years work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:
None
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous event coordination experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPrevious customer service experience
