Cloud Engineer
Team Lead
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for leading a team of cloud engineers to architect and develop innovative cloud-based solutions. The Team Lead will design and implement the whole life-cycle functions of the programs required on the cloud. This role involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Lead a team of cloud engineers
Mentoring junior staff is likely to be a portion of your responsibilitiesDeploying, debugging, and executing initiatives related to cloud computingDesigning, developing, and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policiesMigrating applications and systems to the cloudConfiguring cloud infrastructure components like networking and security servicesCreating the applications and databases that perform on the cloudMonitoring cloud management and data storage servicesManaging a cloud environment and debugging activities throughout developmentInteracting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needsCollaborates and identifies cloud solutions with technical teamsTroubleshoot and resolve cloud-based process difficulties#TSAImpactQualifications
Basic QualificationsBachelor degree and 8 years' experience or Associate degree and 10 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years' experienceU.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearanceProven experienced Technical Team Lead with mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.Experience working as a cloud engineerExtensive experience working in AWS, Azure, and/or VMWare environments.Strong experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.Experience developing Bash/Python scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automaticallyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-playerStrong written and oral communication skillsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience working in an Agile software development environmentExperience with Java, Jenkins, REST API developmentExperience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application serversDiscovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider productsPrior experience providing mentoring to junior personnelAbility to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems
