The successful candidate will be accountable for key performance metrics, including growth, profit, rate, new business, exposure, and retention, within the designated territory. This role involves close collaboration with branch offices to manage and monitor new and renewal business, as well as assisting with pipeline management and key account retention. The VP will also be the primary referral channel for underwriting decisions that exceed branch level authority and will work closely with Excess Casualty TUMs in the region. Key responsibilities for the VP, Excess Casualty Territory Underwriting Manager at the company include building underwriting acumen through training and development, providing recommendations on underwriting authority, and fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a candidate with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and who is confident in utilizing underwriting authority. Regular travel within the assigned territory is a necessary part of the role.
