About us:As a Federally Qualified Health Center in Northern California with over 45 years of dedicated service to the community, LifeLong serves over 66,000 patients in the East Bay Area's socio-economically underserved regions. We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based services at more than 15 primary care sites across Oakland, Berkeley, and West Contra Costa County. Unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved, all employees must receive COVID-19 vaccinations.The Chief Strategy and Development Officer (CSDO) at LifeLong Medical Care will play a critical role in shaping the organization’s short and long-term growth strategy while ensuring alignment with LifeLong’s mission to provide high-quality health, dental, and social services to underserved people of all ages.Reporting to the CEO, the CSDO will lead business development initiatives, oversee the organization’s strategic planning, grants and donor development, the government and community relations strategy, and external communications efforts.Strategic Planning : Partner with the CEO so support Strategic Plan priorities, while reviewing progress metrics with Board Planning Committee and Board of Directors.Business Development:

Lead efforts to identify and develop new programs and opportunities that align with LifeLong’s mission and community needs.Planning, Grants and Donor Development:

Prioritize funder relationships with local, state and federal agencies, along with private philanthropy and individual donors.Government and Community Relations:

Cultivate strong relationships with elected officials and public sector leaders to ensure a strong position for LifeLong Medical for legislative advocacy, funding, and contracting opportunities.External Communications and Marketing : Develop branding and marketing strategies that increase LifeLong’s visibility to reach the community in need of services.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree required, with a Master’s Degree in Public Healthcare or Business Administration preferred.Senior-level management experience with a minimum of 15 years in supervisory roles.Proven success in scaling complex organizations, leading cross-functional teams, and fostering collaboration and innovation.Expertise in strategic planning, creating efficiencies, and driving problem-solving for organizational growth.Strong background in grant writing, donor development, government contracting, and building external partnerships.Effective communicator with experience in managing change, influencing diverse stakeholders, and fostering a mission-driven team environment.Commitment to primary care services for underserved communities, with sensitivity to diverse populations and demonstrated servant leadership.
