Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency, starting with ethylene, the world's most used petrochemical. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over
800 million tons of CO2 per year , representing 1-2% of the world's emissions.
Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality by developing a completely novel technological approach. Having completed our medium-scale Proof-of-Concept, we are now working towards our first-of-its-kind industrial-scale electrolyzer and are assembling key partnerships for future commercial roll-out.
We are supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital and Collaborative Fund and have raised $37m to date. Your Mission
Dioxycle is seeking a highly talented and driven
Head of Brand & Communications
to join our team at this pivotal phase of transition from in-house prototyping to commercial demonstration and roll-out. Partnering with the co-founders, your mission will be to establish Dioxycle as a powerful and recognizable brand within the chemical and climate tech industries and as a trusted decarbonization leader within business and investor communities more widely. In this capacity, your responsibilities will center around:
Communications & Events
Assist in establishing Dioxycle as an industry reference by identifying and managing our presence at priority industry and other events and conferences, including organizing team member participation
Secure major speaking opportunities at thought leadership events
Create regular content (social media), blog articles, press releases, website copy and other brand assets, with the goal of increasing presence & influence
Organize and oversee the production of video content to inform non-specialized audiences on the potential of Dioxycle's technology
Establish relationships with national outlets and specialized press journals and develop a network of relevant journalist/media contacts
Design and write clear, engaging, and consistent content, including press releases, website & social media channels, blog posts
Grow Dioxycle's visibility and awareness with target audiences through media outreach (especially industry press)
Brand
Build a brand platform that clearly articulates Dioxycle's key message and value proposition
Create brand toolkit and training that is embraced and used by Dioxycle team members
Manage external-facing communication platforms/channels, including website and social channels
Create data-led reporting to inform strategic plans
Partner with HR, Engineering & Business Development teams to ensure coherency across all touchpoints
We seek a
Head of Brand & Communications
who is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below. Candidates with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. We are seeking a candidate who is based in, or open to relocating, to the Bay Area or Houston.
Abilities and expertise we are looking for
Fluency in American English (native speaker or equivalent)
Demonstrated ability to translate technical innovations into clear, accessible concepts for non-technical audiences
Background in marketing/communications/PR (rather than creative/design)
Ability to connect and build meaningful relationships with industry & media contacts
Resourceful
Deep understanding of decarbonization/sustainability landscape
Experience in chemical industry and/or in policy is a plus
