General Information:The person in this role will be responsible for external facing activities, collaboration within Hitachi Energy, and coordination across the Hitachi group companies:
External.
This position will represent the company externally through senior level exposure with customers and at industry events to capture market direction and position our value proposition as thought leader for the industry.
Internal.
The INL role drives internal alignment within Hitachi Energy to define for North America our value proposition, develop our data center strategy, create new solutions and execute programs to deliver these value propositions to customers.
Across the Hitachi Group.
The INL role should drive joint strategy execution, including go-to-market collaboration, with Hitachi group companies that provide services and solutions that complement Hitachi Energy’s datacenter offerings.
Your Responsibilities:
Ensure, in close cooperation with the global Datacenter INL, that the North American region develops and maintains a strategic plan across all Hitachi Energy business units, and Hitachi Group, and sales community to address the market, develop new solutions, deliver growth, new revenue streams and achieves targets (e.g. revenue targets, profitability targets, project plans).
Be the Subject Matter Expert for the Datacenters; maintain a continuous learning and development of knowledge and points-of-view regarding the evolving role datacenters within the North American energy market, impact on grid modernization, and needs of datacenters across the energy value chain.
Building and maintaining a strong relationship at senior levels with key customers, policy makers, stakeholders, and decision makers.
Engage with data center planning departments at data center industry stakeholder/customers/organizations to identify the upcoming changes in market directions and upcoming projects to strategically pursue.
Represents Hitachi Energy through high profile board appointments, speaking engagements, industry networks, etc. Lead the Hitachi Energy participation and thought leadership in industry trade shows and events in the region.
As a recognized expert in the data center segment, this position will influence the regulatory and policy environment through associations and organizations.
Work closely with key customers, the country sales leadership teams, Business Units products and portfolio management and with the global market innovation network; to give feedback on market requirements and future required developments.
Drive the strategic marketing of the segment to ensure the swift adoption and integration of Hitachi Energy offering into solutions and promotion as the face of North America.
Engage and contribute to annual market validation, outlook and global budget target setting process.
Benchmark, monitor and share with the businesses the competitive landscape as well as opportunities for partnering with key OEM’s, channels, or service providers.
For the larger organization, regularly share & communicate updates and results from multiple workstreams that include: product innovation and creation, market definition, roadmap development, partnering, product launches, successful projects completed and areas of collaboration related to the datacenter segment.

Your Background:
15+ years in the datacenter industry with specialization in energy specific solutions.
Exceptional understanding of and insight into the Datacenter segment North America.
Broad knowledge of the various business models (e.g. Hyperscale, Colo, Edge…) that drive the revenue stream of this segment.
Proven success in bringing together appropriate team members across a matrix organization for exploration, developing new solutions and pursuit of complex new opportunities.
Strong commercial expertise and communication skills.
Disciplined in process to show and report updates as well as educating stakeholder on progress, while soliciting inputs.
Bachelor’s degree.
Expected travel needs up to 50%, including some international travel.
Location: San Francisco, CA area preferred.
