DescriptionUnder general supervision, drives the Company truck over an established route to deliver products and/or picks up returned product. In addition, this position fulfills all shipping and receiving functions within the warehouse.Coordinate with Production Supervisor and Logistics to ensure orders are delivered within established schedules.Load truck by ordering, placing, and securing items and maintaining schedule.Deliver finished parts to destinations by following the established route while operating the truck in a safe manner.Coordinate and oversee the unloading of truck to the customer and resolve or forward complaints as appropriate. Process delivery paperworkMaintain efficient operation of truck by completing preventive maintenance requirements and coordinating scheduled maintenance.Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations.Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition; check fluid levels and tire pressure and obtain or schedule required repairs.Ensure all safety equipment is accounted for in the truck (fire extinguisher, road flares, reflective triangles, tire chocks, Fuel Spill Kit, and Accident Reporting Kit). Report any safety or maintenance problems with the vehicle immediately to the supervisor.Perform warehouse tasks in conjunction with deliveries such as pulling, assembling orders and loading delivery truck.Provide assistance to warehouse staff in performing normal warehouse duties such as unloading and storing of inbound material and shipping tasks.Operate forklift equipment and maintain driving record truck log.
Position Requirements
Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, federal, state and local laws.2+ years' related experience driving a company vehicle.High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Requires a valid CDL and excellent driving record.Adaptable to changing work environments, deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Ability to follow instructions; responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Certified fork truck operator.Able to effectively communicate in the English language both in the verbal and written form.
