Aerosciences Tools Engineer

will:Develop and evaluate Rarefied Gas Dynamics (RGD) software tools.Apply knowledge of Message Passing Interface (MPI) coding standards.Utilize Fortran and C/C++ skills to model and analyze RGD.Enhance and utilize NASA’s Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) Analysis Code (DAC).Enhance and utilize RGD and CFD simulation tools.Perform other duties as required.Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position.Job Requirements

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area.BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of direct engineering experience, or an MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of direct engineering experience, or a Ph.D.Experience developing parallel processing applications in Fortran or C.Experience with running parallel simulations using High Performance Computers.Expertise in CFD methods and techniques for fully viscous flows.Expertise in iterative computational mesh (grid) development and refinement based on flow field solution quality.Experience developing engineering level models based on CFD and flight or wind-tunnel data.Experience with aerodynamic and/or aerothermodynamic engineering methods/techniques/models.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.Requisition Preferences:

MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.Minor or more in Computer Science.Experience in aero or aerothermal database development and usage, efficiently interpolating from a multi-dimensional database of point solutions to generate environments along a trajectory.Why Join Our Team?
