Cloud Networking Engineer
to join a leading Company located in the
Washington, DC
surrounding area.
Pay Rate Range is $84.54 - $90.58

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud networking technologies, with an emphasis on IPv6 networking, network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain the DOT's IPv6 cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. You will also work with the cloud team in the management and administration of cloud networking components.
Responsibilities :
The main function of a Cloud Engineer is designing and managing cloud-based systems for organizationsA typical Cloud Engineer will collaborate with teams to identify optimal solutions, modify systems, and ensure they meet the organization's needsDesigning, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based systemsEnsuring efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud securityIdentifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issuesRegularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvementsInteracting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needsDevelop and execute a comprehensive IPv6 strategy for a multi-cloud environment, including migration plans and IPv6 adoption roadmapsImplement advanced security measures for IPv6 networks, including firewall policies, intrusion detection systems, and DDoS managementCollaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of IPv6 networking solutionsManagement and administration of cloud networking components, including but not limited to VPCs, subnets, Load Balancers, and Security GroupsProvide technical guidance to Cloud team members and Modal partners on the implementation of IPv6 networking in cloud environmentsBasic Hiring Criteria :
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferredMinimum 8-10 years of experience requiredMinimum 7 years of experience with cloud network technologies, with an emphasis on IPv6 networkingAWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification OR Azure Networking Engineer certificationCandidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and has the ability to obtain a public trustDesired Qualifications :
Troubleshooting and analytical skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsClient management skills to discuss systems as neededStrong knowledge of IPv6 addressing, routing, and subnettingFamiliarity with NAT64 and DNS64 translation servicesHands-on experience managing dual-stack networksIn-depth understanding of network security principles and practicesIntermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tool such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etcBenefits offered to vary by the contract.
