IT Manager

We are looking for an IT Manager to lead our IT team and ensure the smooth and secure operation of our computer systems and network. Someone who can come in, take full ownership over the IT department, create the team structure needed to get the best performance out of the IT staff.

You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the software and hardware involved with running our desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing IT policies and procedures, managing IT projects and budgets, and providing technical support and guidance to users and staff.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in IT management, desktop support, and network administration. You should also have excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently and collaborate with other managers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and lead all IT activities and operations for the organization which may include hiring support staffEnsure the security, availability, reliability, and performance of the IT systems and network including deploying Rapid7 and remediate findingsInstall, configure, update, and troubleshoot software and hardware on desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devicesMonitor and manage network traffic, bandwidth, resources, and overall securityImplement, administer, and deploy network services such as Active Directory, Office 365, endpoint protection, DNS, DHCP, VPN, MDO, Intune, Windows Firewall, etc.Implement ERP replacement projectReview and improve current DR plan, create and test DR plan yearly.Create and maintain user accounts, groups, permissions, backups, encryption, antivirus, and firewall software, Windows updatesEvaluate Network infrastructure, propose upgrade path, implement network overhaulSupport users with technical issues related to software, hardware, network, or peripherals and be willing to work on technical issues.Document system configurations, procedures, policies, and best practicesManage IT projects and delegate aspects of those projects with the team from initiation to completion and ensure timely delivery and quality standardsEvaluate and implement new technologies to reduce security risks, improve uptime, and extend business capabilitiesCommunicate effectively with users, staff, managers, vendors, and external partnersRequirements

Requirements:

Proven experience as an IT Manager or a similar roleAbility to build successful teams, delegate, attend Teams meetings, track KPIs.This position requires the IT Manager to be on site at our Schaumburg location 80% of the time and be willing to travel to the Union, IL location regularly.Experience with desktop support and network administrationKnowledge of system security (e.g. detection and response, vulnerability management, etc.) and data backup/recoveryFamiliarity with Windows operating systems and applicationsFamiliarity with network protocols (TCP/IP), services (DNS,DHCP), devices (routers), switches and firewallsExperience with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure, Intune, pfSense Firewalls, Veaam Backups, 3CX VoIP phone system, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, defender, Rapid7, insightIDR, insightVM, Windows LAPS, Abnormal Email Security, Proofpoint Security Awareness TrainingResourcefulness and problem-solving aptitudeExcellent communication and leadership skillsBSc/BA in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA A+) is a plus
