Overview:
The Quality and CI Engineer develops and leads Process and Quality improvement initiatives by building Quality and Food Safety systems, improving control, and reducing variation in manufacturing around Quality targets. This includes Food Safety practices, control plans and optimum QA practices, as well as deploying technologies and statistical methods to improve Quality, reduce defects, decrease scrap, increase productivity, increase OTIF, improve cost performance, and raise employee and customer satisfaction. This role is a lead resource for InfinityQS software, 8D, SPC / six sigma and other statistical methods across the site. The Quality and Process Improvement Engineer leads QC/QA personnel to ensure products and processes comply with Quality and Food Safety requirements.

Responsibilities:Leads Quality and process improvement projects to drive KPI improvement.-Manage, support and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) projects in a timely manner, Formulate CI and Quality objectives to coordinate with production to maximize product reliability and minimize cost, assist in the identification of various CI and cost savings projects to improve the overall efficiency of the plant.-Assist in the development and evaluation of the quality system, training, audits, corrective actions, and quality plans. Support internal and external quality audits.-Responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance to manufacturing and support teams to ensure product quality and reliability.-Plan and direct activities to meet quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials and products.-Support the design and implementation of quality assurance systems (sampling procedures, evaluating and reporting quality data).Manage Customer Satisfaction Improvement Opportunities-Resolve quality problems with manufacturing, vendors and customers and drive process improvements to ensure quality systems meet customer specifications and company requirements.-Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.-Investigate root cause and implement corrective actions to customer complaints regarding quality.-Ensures personnel follow product testing, inspection, audit, QA, and problem-solving procedures.-Provide training and support for activities related to product quality and reliability.-Interact with plant personnel and sales/customer service personnel on quality problems.-Provide technical support to manufacturing on quality and process issues.-Maintain pertinent production records for traceability and evaluation of product and processes.-Assures equipment and supplies are available for successful team performance.Supports Quality and Food Safety systems development and implementation-Acts as ISO 9001 and SQF IoP standards resource.-Conducts and reports Internal audits - and supports closing audit gaps.-Supports customer and 3rd party audits to maintain industry and customer certifications.-Support as Practitioner back-up.Expands use of SPC and other data analysis methods across manufacturing and QA, so it is used for controlling and improving processes and product Quality.-Studies and improves process in injection, closing, and lining using DOE and other statistical methods. Mine data from all programs (eMaint, InfinityQS, etc.) and drive improvement in performance.-Support analysis driven capability to effectively audit processes vs auditing parts for Quality Products-Lead resource for InfinityQS software for Implements Statistical Process Control in QA and manufacturing.Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree required3-4 years in a similar Quality Engineer roleTechnical Qualifications:-Understanding of and experience with SPC and basic statistics-Familiar with Windows Microsoft Programs, especially Excel (Advanced level preferred).-Understanding of PDCA and structured problem-solving methods.-Lean/Six Sigma Green belt certification or higher.-Familiar with InfinityQS and Minitab software for data analyses.Physical Requirements:-Office environemnt.-Regular exposure to Manufacturing environment.
