JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for safely transporting material from a clients' location and to an assigned destination for processing or disposal. Performs necessary tasks to load and unload material utilizing commercial trucks and/or heavy/agricultural equipment. (May include tankers and end dump trailers in an off road environment.)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES1. Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at EOD2. Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public3. Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment4. Comply with all DOT, state, local and in-house regulations, procedures, and rules5. Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times6. Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination7. Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. May involve overnight travel8. Clean bio-solids off truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfill9. Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES1. Ability to backup truck/equipment2. Ability to memorize routes3. Ability to understand and carryout instructions4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public5. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing6. Ability to work varying shifts, overtime hours, and/or weekend duties7. Ability to understand and follow instructions8. Ability to operate truck/equipment in a safe manner
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES1. Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent (GED)2. Valid Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) Class A with Tanker Endorsement preferred3. Minimum 3 years roll-off experience preferred4. Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. Sitting, Climbing, Balancing, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lift 75 lbs., Fingering, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Visual2. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather3. The worker is subject atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.4. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids.
