Job DescriptionTo effectively work with and monitor student behavior.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDQualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certificationSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodologyAble to work with students with significant behavioral needsTrained in CPI or other crisis intervention programStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAble to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholdersExcellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task complex administrative activitiesBilingual Spanish preferred but not requiredExperience:Experience working with behavior and social skill intervention techniques preferredMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Program SupportAssist in carrying out the district’s goal of improving student achievement by providing assistance to students who are at-risk of academic failure or dropping out of school and/or staff who work with these students.Work closely with administrators, teachers, and the counselor to create and monitor student behavior contracts.Work closely with teachers to develop behavior interaction plans for students.Monitor student behavior in the building and in SAC.Maintain SAC/discipline folder for all students placed in SAC.Maintain file of student work completed in SAC.Enter data in the computer concerning discipline actions. Observe students in the classroom and monitor the progress of students that have been assigned to SAC.Assist with the arrival and dismissal of students.OtherMaintain confidentiality.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEvaluation:
