Job Specific

Supervises the accuracy verification of Front Office, Food and Beverage and other revenue center activitiesOversees the daily balancing of cash, direct bill, credit card and other revenue related accountsMaintains accurate up to date reference documentation regarding all standard rates, group and special rates, packages and promotions offered by the Loews Hotels at Universal Studios EscapeMonitors the daily auditing of banquet checks, event orders, cover counts and guarantees to ensure accuracy and completeness of information and billingSupervises review of group room block-pick-up/attrition figures and verification of accuracy and completeness of room charges and complimentary rooms providedOversees review of adjustments, paid-outs and miscellaneous charges to ensure appropriateness and conformity to established procedure, initiates correction where necessary, reports deviations to managementEnsures submittal of all allowance vouchers to appropriate management for review and approvalPerforms adjustments of Daily Activities Report to reflect rebates and miscellaneous charges, dailySupervises tracking and reporting activities related to pooled gratuities, charged tips, sub contractor revenue splitsMonitors rate variance investigation and reporting activitiesSupervises/assists in the preparation and distribution of daily activities reportsAssists in the investigation and correction of errors and discrepancies discovered in the audit processEnsures accuracy and timeliness of audit completionPrepares and inputs daily journal entriesAssigns appropriate General Ledger control numbers to all miscellaneous charges and rebatesPrepares General Ledger depositsAssists in the investigation of overages/shortages that may be discovered by the audit or General CashierAssists Accounting Supervisor in performance of General Cashier, house bank auditsPrepares periodic reports analyzing Front Office, Food and Beverage, and other revenue center operationsRecommends procedural changes where necessary to correct deficienciesAssists in the General Ledger reconciliationAssists in the end of month closing activities and reconciliation of clearing accountsInterviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines personnel according to Loews Hotels standardsFollows New Hire Training and ongoing Star Service Competency program in accordance with hotel policyDevelops/approves all departmental schedulesEnsures adherence to all departmental and Loews Hotels guidelines, policies and proceduresResponsible for the smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of Audit departmentReviews/maintains daily payroll report/records, maintaining labor cost within established budgetary limitsReviews/approves all department storeroom/purchase requisitions, ensures that operational cost are kept within forecasted budgetary guidelinesEvaluates individual employee performance, determines areas in need of improvement, or requirements for advancement, establishes goals, objectives and training needs required to achieve sameAttends required hotel meetings to: keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and events; maintain communications with other departments throughout the hotelConducts departmental meetings as required to communicate effectively with all Audit Department personnel to ensure that they are kept current with pertinent hotel information and activitiesOther duties as assignedGeneralPromotes and applies teamwork skills at all timesNotifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significanceIs polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employeesExecutes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standardsComplies with required safety regulations and proceduresAttends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessionsMaintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areaComplies with hotel standards, policies and rulesRecycles whenever possibleRemains current with hotel information and changesComplies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
