National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the nation’s oldest and largest national parks nonprofit advocate, has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Gift Officer, Trustees for the Parks to join our Development. The Junior Gift Officer for our midlevel giving program will help grow our Trustees for the Parks donor society ($1,000-$9,999) and advance our donor pipeline as part of a dynamic Development Department striving to raise more than $40 million annually. In this role, you will support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of donors across the eastern U.S., deepening connection and securing funds to protect and advocate for America’s national parks. Essential Functions (% of Time): Portfolio and Moves Management 70% Carry out effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of assigned donors. Qualify capacity to make leadership gifts within the midlevel donor universe and collaborate with Planned Giving and Major Gifts. Increase donor engagement and commitment to the organization through an active calendar of moves management including phone calls, personalized email communications, ongoing written contact, in-person meetings and more. Acknowledge gifts from assigned donors and coordinate additional leadership team acknowledgements when warranted. Record donor activities, preferences and notes on interactions in CRM (Revolution Online / ROI) in a timely manner. Donor Engagement 15% Support donor engagement opportunities within portfolio. Support the planning of events and other opportunities to connect and engage Trustees for the Parks donors as assigned and directed. Collaborate with NPCA colleagues, volunteer committees, regional councils, national council, and board of trustees to advance donor strategies and steward donors. Work closely with Advancement Communications and the Associate Director of National Park Experiences to empower donors and prospects to physically experience America’s national parks and transition travel program participants into the donor pipeline. Administrative and Other Duties 15% Monitor and report-out on portfolio performance and effectiveness of strategies and tactics, recommending changes to course correct and improve metrics as needed. Participate in routine pipeline meetings and donor strategy sessions. Stay abreast of key NPCA priorities and issues affecting national parks while interpreting and communicating NPCA’s work in compelling ways. Contribute ideas and experience to help evolve messaging, design, and processes for Midlevel Giving while maintaining strong collaboration with Advancement Communications, Prospect Research, Major Gifts and Planned Giving. Minimum Work Schedule:

Flexible 32-hour work week. Core office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday – Thursday. Some nights and weekends may be required, especially as dictated by donor visits, event attendance, and travel. Schedule flexibility may be needed frequently for portfolio work across time zones. Travel:

Frequent travel may be required, up to 25% of time. A valid driver’s license is required. Minimum Qualifications, Competencies, Skills, Education, and Traits: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 2-4 years’ experience working in a Development environment (or business equivalent, such as a sales department) required. Experience in individual fundraising or donor relations preferred. Experience demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, switch gears and prioritize as required while anticipating and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced donor centric environment. Dynamic, creative, outgoing strategic thinker; collaborative in nature and a team player. Results-driven self-starter and a solution-oriented proactive forward-thinker. Ability to handle sensitive information. Excellent verbal, listening and writing skills. The ability to find and create energy in connecting with others through personal and verbal interactions. Comfort in “cold calling” and soliciting donations. Ability to travel for donor visits, NPCA events, and industry events. A valid driver’s license.
