About the Opportunity:
Job Title: Network Operations Engineer/Watch Officer - Level II
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Network Operations Engineer/Watch Officer - Level II to join our Network Operations Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's information systems that support core organizational functions. This role demands in-depth understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software, with a focus on troubleshooting and quick resolution of network-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future with adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Continually oversee network systems for performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
Assist with the configuration and installation of network hardware and software.
Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network operations or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, software applications, operating systems, and network hardware.
Professional certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS) are strongly .
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Must be able to work in a team environment, but also be capable of self-direction and independent problem-solving.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
