This role involves leading a team of sales professionals, identifying new business opportunities, and overseeing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and close.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the government procurement process, an established network within the public sector, and a proven track record of successful sales leadership in a government-facing sales environment.

ResponsibilitiesWork closely with VP of Sales on mission objectives, team development, and data driven strategies to ensure optimal performance of entire sales teamLead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals focused on government accounts, ensuring team alignment with company goals and consistent performanceExecute strategic plans to expand VIRSIG’s presence within federal and state government markets; focus on identifying high-value prospects, nurturing existing relationships, and converting leads into long-term contractsProactively identify and target new opportunities with federal and state agencies, including through RFPs, bid proposals, and direct outreachBuild and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, decision-makers, and procurement officers across federal, state, and local agenciesAct as a trusted advisor, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term retentionOversee the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing deals; ensure that sales activities align with company objectives and comply with all applicable regulationsStay informed about trends in the government contracting landscape, including legislation, budget allocations, and procurement policies; leverage market insights to identify new business opportunities and competitive advantagesTrack and report on sales performance, forecasting, and pipeline management; use data to make informed decisions and optimize the sales processWork closely with internal teams, including marketing, inside sales, and operations, to ensure customer requirements are understood and metCollaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all contracts and agreements meet company and regulatory standardsEnsure all government sales activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), procurement integrity, and conflict of interest rulesEnsure that VIRSIG’s “Why” and core values are guiding principles in all daily activitiesQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public administration, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Federal Contracts Manager, etc.) are a plusMinimum 5 years of proven sales experience, with at least 3 years focused on government sales (federal and/or state); previous experience managing a sales team is highly preferredStrong understanding of government procurement processes, GSA schedules, SBA 8(a), OGS, federal contracting and state-level bidding processes; working knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations preferredEstablished relationships with key decision-makers within federal, state, and/or local government agenciesDemonstrated ability to successfully sell complex solutions to government clients, including managing long sales cycles, handling RFP responses, and negotiating high-value contractsExperience leading a sales team, setting sales targets, and driving performance to meet or exceed revenue goalsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior government officials and internal stakeholdersScheduleMonday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pmThis is a remote eligible position with the option to work out of our Port Washington, NY headquartersRegular work-related travel required (50%-75%) both domestic and internationalVIRSIG, LLC is a global technology company focused on secure networks, video surveillance, detection, and access control solutions.
