Computer Engineers
to support the US Navy in
Middletown, RI .JOB DESCRIPTION :Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that require low-level control processing (Interrupts, Timers Digital I/O and serial communication protocols) for electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optic equipment. Develops embedded software for use on real-time and near real-time operating systems and processors including networking and radio systems. Requires basic knowledge of reading schematics of complex electronic assemblies. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.JOB DUTIES :Reviewing project requirements and documentationDocumenting workAttending team meetings to discuss progressCollaborating with other engineers on code reviewsCollaborating with multidiscipline teams for system interactionDesigning system architectureWriting code in various languages like C++, C, or VerilogTroubleshooting system issues and debugging code to fix errors (Could be within an IDE or IDP/Hardware)Testing functionalities (System integration testing or Unit testing)Travel to offsite/field location for hand-on system testing/integrationQualificationsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE :BS in Electrical or Computer engineering and 2 years’ experienceEmbedded programming/debugging, Embedded C, C++, VerilogCandidate must be a US CitizenCandidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance
