A week in the life of a Tier I
Linux Systems Administrator ,youwill:Perform general Systems Administrator functionssupporting all HPCusers withcourteous responses to theirHPC system operations and maintenance activitiesissues.Support Senior Systems Administrators (SA) in optimizing the functionality and performance of hardware and software components.Ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers, workstations, and data storage systems (Lustre, Bright Cluster)Support other System Administrators (SA) in creating, administering, and managing Linux user accounts.Triage Tier 1 Service desk tickets and produce service ticket reports and performance metrics.Support Linux SA and Engineering team in installation and testing of HPC system components, including setup and configuration of:hardware and softwarecomputing and data storageserversnetworking equipmentcomputing peripherals
Provide responsive backup management,security issues, set up and configuration ofLinuxservers and software.Performtimely hardware replacement not covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.Assist Network personnel in configuration of networking equipment, ensuring network security, and managing firewalls.Implement necessary measures to comply with all Program security requirements.Adhere to all IT policies, processes, and procedures.Manage changing priorities.
Job Requirements
Active TOP SECRETclearancewith SCI eligibilityBachelor's degree in STEM discipline (e.g., CS, Engineering, Information Technology, etc.) and 5+ years of experienceCurrent IAT II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE)VMware vSphere 6 and upScripting (BASH, Python, or Perl)Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized technology, Ansible, and PostgreSQLFamiliarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and securing and hardening Linux systems to meet RMF controls.Experience with CUDA, Google TensorFlow, or similar toolsets.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
