We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-level Network Engineer to join our team, providing crucial support to the Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). You will support and assist in the design, development, and deployment of the network enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support the enterprise architecture, design, development, and deployment of network services in support of government customer.

Research and implement enterprise-wide network solutions, capabilities, and enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives, while complying with the network architecture and design standards.

Produce SDLC project artifacts such as requirements, design documents, diagrams, and other required documentation.

Troubleshoot network incidents, providing root cause analysis and documenting information in tickets and knowledge repositories.

Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring, and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies.

Assist in the development of roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies.

Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation for network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions.

Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts.

Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance, and reliability.

Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices.

Follow all customer network security processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with government policies.

Collaborate and capture customer requirements, presenting customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.

Perform site installations, technology refresh, develop implementation plans and schedules.

Report to the Network Architect; mentor, train, and guide Junior Network Engineers.

Assist in the development and management of network architecture diagrams.

Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.

Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with operations and engineering teams.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

8570 compliant certifications and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field of study. Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

A minimum of (8) eight years of experience.

Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technology.

Experience with primary network topologies, LANs, WANs and other common network standards.

Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and QoS, MPLS.

Very strong knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, GRE, IPSEC, and VRF).

Familiarity with networking technologies including router/switch administration, ethernet and wireless networking and related protocols, hardware installation and support, system security techniques and firewall administration, basic database management.

Experience with designing, configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting network infrastructure technology.

Experience supporting a switched or routed network environment.

Must have experience creating/writing design documentation, diagrams, and other project artifact deliverables.

Experience with installation, configuration, problem resolution and maintenance of all network resources, systems, and other IT-related technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree

A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must hold a Secret clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain DHS EOD suitability

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy, machine, and computer printer.

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers,

which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
