The Lean Specialist at Sterling Crane US will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. This role will focus on analyzing operational processes, identifying areas for efficiency improvements, and implementing Lean methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve service delivery. The Lean Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, maintenance, logistics, and safety, ensuring sustainable change and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the execution of Lean initiatives across all departments, including operations, logistics, and maintenance, to improve efficiency and reduce operational waste.Utilize Lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, Standard Work, and Kanban to streamline processes and enhance workflow.Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions for improvement.Deliver training and mentoring on Lean principles to employees across different levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.Perform process analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions using Lean methodologies, such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).Collaborate with leadership to prioritize and manage improvement projects, ensuring alignment with Sterling Crane's operational goals and KPIs.Monitor and report on the progress of Lean projects, utilizing metrics such as cycle time, cost savings, and productivity improvements.Support change management efforts to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes, working closely with department heads to align strategies with company objectives.Conduct regular audits of processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with Lean practices and identifying areas for further refinement.Drive efficiency in scheduling, resource management, and equipment utilization through continuous process improvement.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred but not required.Lean Practitioner preferred but not required.3+ years of experience in Lean implementation or continuous improvement roles, ideally in the construction, heavy equipment, or industrial services industries.Strong knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, and Kanban.Proven experience leading cross-functional improvement projects and facilitating Kaizen events.Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and Lean metrics.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.Experience with change management and fostering a continuous improvement culture.Working Conditions
Office-based with regular travel to client locations and job sites.
