The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
Job Summary
Lead multidisciplinary teams (staff and vendors) in the design and project management services in the development and implementation of low voltage information technology related systems. Within assignment parameters, define project scope and resources required and works with minimal oversight. Usually oversees multiple projects. Projects can generally be defined as single or multiple mid-sized to large in scope and complexity. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: facilities management D&C, staff, faculty, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -Confer with customers to develop scope and define project.
Job Duty 2 -Prepare drawings and specifications of low voltage (data / voice / fiber / CATV) infrastructure cabling.
Job Duty 3 -Manage project through installation/construction.
Job Duty 4 -Confer with occupants, project managers, and end-users for the coordination of infrastructure cabling with other trades.
Job Duty 5 -Review and comment on low voltage designs by outside consultants for campus capital projects.
Job Duty 6 -Trouble shoot and analyze low voltage cabling / systems and implement solutions.Job Duty 7 -Prepare purchase requests.Job Duty 8 -Set and manage budget. Monitor expenses incurred.Job Duty 9 -Review test reports and QC installations.Job Duty 10 -Perform other duties as assigned

Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required ExperienceSix years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred QualificationsBuilding Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification and other BICSI certifications Basic knowledge of wireless, IP cameras, access control, and other low voltage systems
Preferred Educational QualificationsBachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or related field
Preferred ExperienceEight years of job related experience
Proposed Salary
Budget: $118,774Salary based upon experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLSSeasoned level application of low voltage infrastructure cabling and project management. Knowledge of technical low voltage cabling concepts and applicable codes. Mid-level computer skills for Word, Excel, and AutoCAD drafting software. Able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
