Responsibilities
SummaryThis position serves as liaison between the facility, inmates, their families and the community. The purpose is to assists inmates with reintegration into the community and accessing available resources. It also facilitates educational groups for the facility’s sex offender population.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as liaison with community mental health centers, half way houses, community corrections, state operated psychiatric hospitals, and private health care facilities to successfully assist in the proper discharge planning activates for sex offenders program participants.Responds to inmate requests regarding linkages to service providers in custody and in the community.Provides educational services to current inmates, both individually and in group meetings, regarding support services in the community.Complies and documents pertinent legal information on inmates housed on sex offender facility for utilization by members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team in case treatment and placement planning.Facilitates psycho-educational groups for sex offender program participants.Participates with other members of the treatment team in developing individualized treatment plans for inmates, providing feedback, consultation, and recommendations regarding an inmate’s progress and discharge plans.Complies with all personnel policies and administrative rules.Provides general operational support and administrative assistance in the absence of the Clinical Director.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum RequirementsMaster’s degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice or a related field with two (2) years of practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years of direct service experience in correctional/ mental health setting.A high level of familiarity with the community resources at the local, state, and federal levels is desirable.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.GEO Secured Services
