Overview
The Blackhawk Network Risk Department seeks a full-time Director of Risk Product Management. We are looking for a high-performing professional to develop and execute the Risk Product Strategy for Blackhawk Network’s global portfolio of prepaid products and distribution channels. The role will oversee a team that identifies, investigates and creates the necessary product functionality and customer experiences to detect and stop all fraud types across different BHN product portfolios. These risk solutions will include identity verification, authentication, transaction monitoring, device intelligence, rules engines, ML services and highly accurate evaluations of all transactions and prepaid card lifecycle activities. This role will enable Blackhawk to grow and launch new products without being impacted by bad actors. Because fraud can scale massively and quickly, automation strategy is key, as well as being able to partner with stakeholders for commerce and incentives growth, as well as security and compliance risk partners. The ideal candidate will own the execution of all Risk product lines and drive strategy across multiple stakeholders and domains. Candidates must have: a proven track record of driving product strategy, a desire to drive amazing new product capabilities in the critical risk management space. A strong understanding of fraud vectors (both physical and online), device intelligence, behavior intelligence, automation and AI/ML is highly beneficial. Manage from concept to launch, collaborating with internal experts and clients to produce intelligent and insightful products and create holistic solutions partnering with technical program managers and engineers to deliver on product roadmap. Own the launch and release plans, collaborating with Account Managers, Business teams, exec stakeholders, partners, etc. to ensure proper prioritization of product features. Strategically and tactically own product development for Risk Platforms and Risk customer experiences related to the distribution & fulfillment platforms for Prepaid - Open Loop, Closed Loop, Digital and Incentive products. Lead a team to identify, evaluate and build critical risk product functionality and customer experiences to detect & distinguish fraud from good customer behavior. Create the necessary solutions to deliver accurate risk decisioning producing superior business outcomes. Partner with Risk Analyst/Data Scientists to develop analytics, monitoring and reporting that deliver insights into the fraud environment. Serve as the subject matter expert on risk and fraud trends in the prepaid industry across all risk categories (stolen cards, stolen identity, account takeover, victim-assisted fraud, counterfeit cards, etc.) Work closely with Risk Analysts and other product teams on the development of new products to identify potential gaps that might create loss and define requirements to mitigate those risks. Evaluate, Select and Manage relationships with all Risk vendors to deliver the most profitable outcomes. Work with various partners within Blackhawk Networks to coordinate the execution of fraud mitigation solutions. Demonstrate flexibility that is needed to succeed within a matrix organization while being proactive and comfortable with working alongside stakeholders from different domains. Remain up to date on industry information, federal regulations, and new products, while continuously learning from peers across the organization about fraud and fraud-prevention tools. Author a vision for the next generation of Risk Product strategy and infrastructure for managing risk associated with our products, services, distribution channels, and technology platforms. Develop and implement the necessary product solutions required for a world-class fraud and risk-management system. Collaborate with and influence internal and external business partners on risk issues that have a critical impact on the success of the company’s digital and direct-to-consumer strategic objectives. Qualifications
Excellent product management skills, including the ability to identify product solution opportunities, create outstanding customer experiences and perform product risk/reward trade-off analytics. Demonstrated success defining and shipping products in an iterative manner, with a hands-on willingness to do whatever it takes from an execution perspective. Leadership through influence rather than organization structures. Proven ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate with cross-functional product development teams and manage interactions across product areas. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with various business units that play key roles in the risk management process and in the development of risk systems. Strategic and tactical analysis, consultative, and decision-making skills. Strong product design skills, from a technical API and user interface design perspective to processing systems. Experience with cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, microservices, and event-driven architecture a plus. Demonstrated understanding of payment flows and the methods bad actors use to take advantage of them. Have a good understanding of general Prepaid and Payment business trends and directions to be able to put your own work in the broad business context. Expertise in identity linking and device fingerprinting techniques. Experience with Data Science modeling and techniques preferred. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in engineering/computer science, business, statistics, or analytical/quantitative discipline. An equivalent combination of training and experience is acceptable. Master's Degree preferred. 10+ years of product management, risk management, payments and/or engineering experience. 5+ years of management experience. Benefits
Salary Range for California Residents Only: $184,060.00 to $248,500.00 Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $146,290.00 to $197,500.00 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2024, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
