Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees.The Senior Specialist, Lab Operations & Safety will support the purchasing of equipment, consumables, and service agreements for local Research and Development functional teams. The incumbent will organize the procurement life cycle of capital investment projects and coordinate activities related to biological risk assessments for US sites through approval of the appropriate Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBC), including Nagoya compliance and tracking. This position will assist in the assignment of study numbers associated with local protocols.**Duties & Responsibilities**+ Leads activities related to the purchase of lab supplies and consumables for multiple R&D functions in alignment with corporate guidelines.+ Organizes the lifecycle aspects of capital asset projects from need identification through project closure. This includes all activities related to purchasing, delivery, installation, and asset management.+ Provides dashboard reports and budget tracking as needed.+ Organizes the lifecycle aspects of engineering and infrastructure capital projects, including renovation/construction activities and other large (> $200K) projects as needed.+ Tracks activities related to service and maintenance plans for local R&D equipment, including PO generation and renewals.+ Coordinates the review of biological risk assessments for the Athens Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).+ Supports lab operations activities, including chemical inventory management, waste flow processes, environmental monitoring, equipment management, and housekeeping.**Requirements**+ Bachelors degree with focus in a scientific field, preferably a biological science and two (2) years of experience.OR+ Associates degree and a minimum of four (4) years of experience.OR+ High school diploma with six (6) years of experience.+ Experience in a laboratory setting or production area or relevant field.+ Demonstrated ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in a passionate, positive, and professional manner.+ Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.+ Experience in working with cross-functional teams.+ Influence without authority.+ Outstanding flexibility, adaptability, and sense of accountability.**Eligibility Requirements** :+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.+ Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).+ Must be 18 years of age or older.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to a persons actual or perceived race, including natural hairstyles, hair texture and protective hairstyles; color; creed; religion; national origin; age; ancestry; citizenship status, marital status; gender, gender identity or expression; sexual orientation, mental, physical or intellectual disability, veteran status; pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition; genetic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing) or any other class or characteristic protected by applicable law.
