This role will be responsible for maintaining & improving the cloud control validation process, providing expertise on cloud services and security, and guiding engineers as they grow their career in cloud security. The Platform Engineer is also responsible for identifying and driving opportunities for improvement such as process simplification, automation of tasks, and evaluation of new tools and technology that create value for the organization.Candidates for this role should have expert knowledge and experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS. Candidates should be passionate about cybersecurity with an eye for continuous improvement and empathy for development teams. Responsibilities:Provide guidance for Control Validation team membersEstablish and maintain goals & objectives for Control Validation activitiesDrive continuous improvement of Control Validation processes & proceduresCoordinate with leaders for prioritization & work handoffsIdentify opportunities for automation, evaluate new tools, and drive implementation of technology that creates value for the organizationDevelop automated solutions using scripts and cloud-based server-less computing platformsCapital One will consider hiring remote candidate for this position.Basic Qualifications:At least 6 years of experience in software developmentAt least 2 years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Preferred Qualifications:MBA or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security, Engineering or Mathematics1+ year experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tools such as Work Day1+ year experience with XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations)AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification Security certification such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security Specialty 3+ years of experience architecting applications for the AWS cloud3+ years of experience developing scripts in PowerShell, VBScript, JavaScript, or PythonAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.No agencies please.
