Rev Group is a veteran friendly employer and hires over 200 veterans and or those transferring out of the military each year.Plans, organizes and monitors the Purchasing department ensuring a smooth and consistent operation for the timely arrival of parts and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure systems and processes are in place for effective communications.Facilitate activities and strategies related to delivering necessary business results.Provide coaching/mentoring to buyers effecting leadership skills, comfortable with working in a sometimes confrontation environment, monitor to assure adherence to all purchasing policies and procedures.Negotiate vendor contracts and be able to conduct make/buy analysis.Successfully manage people at various levels to help accomplish assigned tasks.Promote use and application of lean manufacturing/six sigma/continuous improvement tools as part of the culture.Partner with leadership team members in executing initiatives and projects to achieve strategic business plan.Monitor and be involved in all aspects of Vendor evaluationsExperience with blanket orders and contract terms/terms and conditions.Develop and understand supplier performance metrics & have some quality metric experience. Coordination of bidding/quoting activities to ensure consolidated purchasing power for the entire company.Actively participate in driving business results as a member of the site leadership team.Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.Qualifications/Training:
Familiar with the automotive supply base, some cost estimating knowledge and basic cost modeling.Must be computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft Office Business Suites and/or Lotus. Demonstrated an ability to lead people and get results through others.Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience with SAP MRP purchasing systems preferredMinimum 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment and 3 plus years experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control.Physical Demands:
