Senior Principal Software Development Engineer (OCI) at Oracle in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive-scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The Oracle Cloud Migration (OCM) service team is building an OCI native service to enable customers to migrate their data and application workloads to OCI from on-prem environments, and other clouds.We are looking for software engineers who are ready to take on new challenges in maintaining and developing highly available and scalable migration platform. As an architect on this team, you will design and improve OCI service and deliver the platform using the latest technologies on OCI. You will partner with the product team, learn about the existing challenges, and influence the vision and direction. You will execute the entire software lifecycle - development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations. You must balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics, and events leveraging a plethora of internal tooling at OCI. Career Level - IC5 Responsibilities About You : + You are an experienced cloud software architect with a consistent track record of designing and delivering high-scale, high-impact solutions + You are obsessed with the customer, always exceeding expectations + You have excellent communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts + You are a focused engineer who understands the importance of high standards, never satisfied with mediocrity and constantly striving for excellence + You are comfortable with ambiguity in a chaotic and fluid environment + You are passionate about technology and are not afraid to defend your opinions or position with peers/superiors Minimum Qualifications + 4+ years of designing cloud services and 6+ years of implementing backend software services. + Experience developing customer-focused architectures and restful web services + Hands-on experience building and operating tools and dashboards with large data pipeline + Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process + Experience with at least one scripting language for automating tasks, proof of concept work, or command line tools + Strong working experience on GitHub/Bitbucket, TeamCity/Hudson, Maven/Gradle + BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience + Working knowledge in Java, C++, C#, or similar OO languages Preferred Qualifications + Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle) + Work with large volumes of data and logging + Understanding of key performance indicators and how to dig into them + Experience and knowledge of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers + Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules + Experience working with internal customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features (Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development) Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
