TravelPS Companies is seeking an experienced Med Surg Tele RN on a Neuro Cardiac unit for an opening in Newburgh, IN. This is a full time 13 week travel contract position.
Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7, every weekend
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Tele/Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charge nurse experience preferred.
Patient Population:
Complex Med/Surg/Tele patients.
Post cardiac caths with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD. Complex abdominal surgeries (open bellies/colons), oncology, cranis POD 2.Skillset:
REQUIRED: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessement skills. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Intitate/titrate drips (Insulin, cardiac, Heparin, etc.),
heart cath recovery (fem. & TR bands). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!PREFERRED: NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn doing, chest tubes.Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates
