Production Lead

Hartzell Hardwoods is looking for experienced teammates to cross-train in multiple departments throughout our operations. We are searching for candidates that demonstrate an ownership-like attitude and the desire and drive to grow into larger roles to further develop their careers.Pieces of this role can be physically demanding so it is important that the candidate be able to perform all job duties. We will be evaluating each application and consistent job history is will be a requirement to be considered for the role.Basic Function: Support the Multiple departments throughout our operations.Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Develop, and cross train in all functions of the operation including but not limited to packaging lumber, banding bundles and tagging, stick layer, utility, stacker operator, infeed operator, and operating fork lift.2. Ability to proficiently stack lumber from the lumber handling machine.3. Works at fast pace.4. Operate rip saw and planer.5. Legibly/accurately write tag numbers/tagging bundles per the SOP.6. All species and lumber codes will need learned.7. Responsibilities will include learning how to load containers/Flat beds, Build and prepare orders to yard order specifications.8. Perform cycle counts and physical inventory9. Ability to move lumber through the operation in a safe manner while paying attention to your surroundings and placing lumber in its designated location.10. Load the front of the machine per the worksheets provided/unload stacker and place on the yard in designated area.11. Observes Good Housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.12. Performs 5s in designated area13. Support the lean initiatives14. Perform all work related tasks assigned by management personnelRequirementsQualifications and Required Skills: •Good communication skills•Ability to follow SOP's is a must•Stands 9-10 hours per day. Frequently lifts, 40-70% of normal work day, material weighing 5-25 lbs. Occasionally, up to 15% of normal work day, lifts material weighing over 60 lbs. Lifting is generally from waist level to shoulder level.•Previous experience with Chain saw, bander, band cutters, stapler are a plus•Must be capable of close, distant, and color vision and have good depth perception.•Must reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.•Employee must have very good attendance•Must have a good understanding of workflow
