Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Division Accounting Manager for a large manufacturing client near Newnan, GA. This is a full-time permanent position that will offer a generous base salary, a full benefits package, and growth opportunities.
The position will be responsible for assisting the Division Controller in directing the accounting functions of the division office, thereby assuring the integrity of the accounting function as well as supporting and influencing decision-making. Highly motivated and team-oriented, this person will possess an excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting practices. This person will have the ability to balance detailed transactional work with large-scale accounting projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage division accounting monthly closing processes, resulting in timely and accurate financial reports for both internal and external users.In collaboration with the company tax department, oversees all tax-related functions for the company.Analyze financial data ensuring financial records are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Research accounting issues and in collaboration with Division Controller and Sox Director, recommend appropriate accounting treatment. Support the Division Controller in establishing, implementing, and monitoring accounting policies for the client.Support Sox compliance by properly performing assigned Sox controls. Provide additional Sox compliance support to other members of the division as assigned.Assist with the coordination of the development, design and implementation of consistent global accounting and finance requirements at the Division Office with a focus on controls and procedures, process efficiencies, and system enhancements.Ensure successful implementation and ongoing administration of the accounting functions within the Oracle Cloud system for Division Accounting.Maintain knowledge of business operations in order to understand the impact of business events on external reporting requirements.Perform other related duties as required to promote overall system improvements, process efficiencies and effectiveness as well as overall customer satisfaction.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting with extensive accounting experience with multi-entity manufacturing organizations.CPA a plus, Master's degree a plus.7+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience required, including advanced knowledge of GAAP in a multi-entity environment and previous experience in SOX compliance activities.Strong communication (oral and written), analytical, organization, planning and project management skills.Advanced level proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting-related software; specific experience with JD Edwards and Oracle a plus.Advanced knowledge of GAAP.Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and interaction between financial and other systems.Ability to recognize financial and tax issues that require contacting appropriate resources in the company.Ability to identify and implement process and other improvements, partnering with others as needed.Willingness to go beyond past experiences and seek out additional commitments in support of financial team's objectives.Drive to take control of personal career development.
