Position Summary: The Staff Ready Float supports various non-clinical units across the healthcare system, rotating in Patient Observation, Admissions, Transport, and other areas as needed. This role requires ethical decision-making, compassion, and respect for all patients and families, along with effective communication skills to foster positive interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members. The Staff Ready Float upholds ARHS policies, regulatory standards, and demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and teamwork, contributing to a positive patient experience and safe care environment.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience:

Experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills to interact courteously with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ability to deliver safe and effective patient care within the scope of certifications and hospital policies. Knowledge of patient care processes across the continuum of care. Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered focus. Physical Demands:

Ability to lift, push, pull, or transfer over 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and mobility for prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning, with near acuity for close-up tasks. Working Conditions:

Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, electrical/mechanical equipment, and other hazards. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to respond to emergencies. Continuous standing and walking for shifts up to or exceeding 8 hours, frequent patient mobilization, and occasional exposure to ionizing/non-ionizing radiation.
