Merchandise Planner

As a Merchandise Planner you will have the opportunity to participate in all facets and major components of the retail buying and the product management process for Waxing The City and Basecamp Fitness.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to assistance in product and vendor selection, order placement, inventory planning and forecasting, invoicing and accounts payable work, pricing, and merchandising. You will work directly with and support Waxing the City and Basecamp Fitness. This position will report directly to the Director of Retail and Merchandising.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Assist in retail product strategy execution Assist in the development of product education and training tools for franchisees Assist in the management of product development milestones and calendars Negotiate discounts, rates, and best pricing for all products Monitor and maintain in-stock inventory levels Forecast sales and ensure there is enough inventory to support Create clear and concise merchandising standard and guides Place orders with vendors, keep accurate records and manage all order follow-up Maintain all SKUs and pricing updates Assist in planning and advertising for different promotions Core Competencies : Buying, Sales Forecasting, Assortment Planning, Competitive Analysis, Retail Financial Acumen, Influencing, and Relationship Management
Job Qualifications:
3+ years of buying and vendor management experience required Ideally experience with private label development and management Experience in the beauty / cosmetics industry Proven history of success in assistance with developing and implementing product strategies Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills Comfortable dealing with uncertainty by creating structure and prioritizing effectively Market awareness and ability to recognize future trends Ability to learn quickly and easily adapt to a dynamic work environment Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to think creatively, driven, and initiative-taking contributor Limited travel required What's in it for you:
