THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a

Senior Applications Engineer

within the customer-facing Sales Engineering team to conduct a wide range of technical activities relating to applications/solutions engineering and customer and sales support. In this role, you will work closely with customers and the Sales team to drive product development and be a key component in enabling the development of cutting-edge systems and technologies.

The

Senior Applications Engineer

will be expected to help define and test new products and features, assist customers and the sales team with technical support requests, perform technical analysis and systems integration duties, and engineer complete solutions to complex problems with little oversight. This position will work closely with internal engineering teams and provide in-person support with up to 25% domestic and international travel.

This position is on a hybrid schedule; a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies' HQ in the heart of

West Los Angeles, CA.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESBe a leader on the Applications Engineering team by providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members and assisting with the training of new hires.Develop and run targeted training courses for internal teams and customers alike.Design and test complete solutions that solve unique technical problems.Define new products and features to fill gaps and perform product evaluations and field trials for new product features and accessories.Work independently on complex projects with minimal oversight.Own and manage multidisciplinary projects through completion, following up with responsible internal teams to ensure targets are met.Respond to customer and sales team requests and questions, providing troubleshooting support, systems integration engineering, product recommendations, engineering analysis, and other services via telephone phone, online, and in-person.Manage and respond to support emails and requests while also delegating tasks to team members to ensure every inquiry is addressed and resolved in a timely manner.Suggest and implement new processes to increase the efficiency of the team's support responses and reduce incoming support workload.Work individually and with Engineering teams to support these requests via in-house or field testing and validation.Test and harden existing features through firmware and hardware changes in realistic applications.Support the Sales Engineering team by helping prepare for demos, training, testing, or recreating bugs and issues reported from the field.Create and maintain customer-facing documents and content including manuals, guides, videos, application notes, FAQs, etc., to support customers and sales more efficiently.Assist the RMA and Loaner teams by providing guidance and equipment recommendations, as well as vetting customer and sales team requests.Become an expert in internal processes to be able to fill in when necessary.Travel requirements - Up to 25% travel to provide in-person engineering support to customers and the sales team - including demos, troubleshooting, system integration, and training.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field.Minimum 4 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.Proficiency in instruments such as spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and other RF and data network test equipment and testing.Must possess an ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must to effectively communicate with customers and internally across the entire organization.Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to details.Proficiency with PC office applications and mobile devices.Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Willingness to travel and work at customer sites (e.g., 1 week out of the month typically confined to Mon-Fri).NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency with TCP/IP protocol and networking.Experience with operating and testing IP radios/modems.Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF signal propagation, and digital communication technologies.Experience in testing embedded radio communication systems.Familiarity with Linux.Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or C/C++.

COMPENSATION

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

CA Pay Range

$100,000-$120,000 USD
