Business Summary:

The TI tax department provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in and exposure to complex tax issues and related responsibilities entailed with working for a multinational publicly traded company. This position shares responsibility for the federal and state income tax forecast and compliance processes as well as involvement in special projects that may provide cash tax benefits, tax rate benefits and/or improve, tighten and streamline processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare complex federal and state income tax returnsParticipate in various aspects of domestic income tax compliance, such as tax calculations for fixed assets, stock compensation, and R&D credit, and managing domestic inputs and consolidated return tie-outs in the tax compliance software.Assist with the federal and state quarterly estimated payment, extension and provision processesResearch tax technical issues and communicate the federal and/or state implications for TI tax compliance in a clear and concise mannerParticipate in various tax planning activities and assist with special projectsIdentify and lead process improvement initiatives that streamline and influence TI-level processes within the tax functionSupport efforts to defend US tax filings upon audit by the IRSMinimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field3+ years of related work experience at a large corporation with multistate presencePreferred qualifications:

CPA and/or Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting a plusWorking knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirementsWorking knowledge of corporate income tax software solutions. Experience with OneSource Income Tax and related suite of products strongly preferredExperience with preparation and e-filing of complex consolidated federal income tax returnsExperience with preparation and e-filing of state corporate tax returns in both separate and combined reporting jurisdictions. Experience with complex reporting jurisdictions such as California and New Hampshire strongly preferred.Excellent research skills and working knowledge of tax research tools such as RIA Checkpoint or BNA/BloombergExperience with SAP, BPC, Business Objects, Alteryx, and other reporting/data wrangling toolsAptitude for technology, proven experience with process improvementsAbility to take initiative and work independently and effectively under pressure and manage deadlinesStrong analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a dual-reporting roleWhy TI?
