The Director of Conference Services and Catering develops and executes strategies and initiatives to detail group bookings for the resort .
Plans and administers conference service and catering activities and programs to foster and execute bookings for Callaway Resort and Gardens Develops conference service and catering plans that result in meeting or exceeding banquet and catering food and beverage revenues. Guides and develops productivity for conference service and catering personnel to include financial goal setting. Negotiates food, beverage and meeting room rental, and is responsible for upselling food and beverage business for Callaway Gardens. Participates and supports the food and beverage sales menu planning for the Conference Service Managers. Manages established/existing accounts to achieve and exceed pre-determined annual revenues and food and beverage goals. Signature Events, Social Events, Weddings, Picnics and Day Meetings. Supervises preparation for Banquet Event orders and meeting agendas. Communicates and leads BEO meetings and resume meetings. Group Maintenance. Details all accounts so that all aspects of the solicitation, closing and group requirements are complete and documented. Site Inspections, conduct site inspections of Callaway Gardens to existing and potential clients by touring the Resort and providing information on the benefits and features of the Resort. Maintains compliance with Herschend and Callaway Gardens standards. Actively participates in hotel/resort sales and food and beverage meetings. Accurately communicates the client's needs and expectations to the appropriate hotel personnel. Other duties may be assigned by the Resort General Manager.
Communicates timely and professionally with meeting planners to obtain accurate details pertaining to their meeting. Consults meeting planner on how Callaway Gardens' facilities and services can meet the conference objectives of the meeting planner. Makes effort to up sell Callaway Gardens' services, as it relates to Food and Beverage, Recreation and Retail services. Prepares accurate and timely information disseminated to operational managers at Callaway Gardens. Actively coordinates meeting activities to assure that meeting objectives are met. Assures efficient use of meeting space as well as efficient and appropriate use of other facilities and services managed by Callaway Gardens. Maintains compliance with Callaway Gardens' standards. Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
Requires a minimum of two to three years previous experience of Director of Catering & Conference Service Management experience. Previous Hotel/Resort sales experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license from the appropriate state. (may need if they drive)
