Property Accountant

We are currently seeking a Property Accountant based in our Darien, CT office, who will be responsible
for maintaining the books and records (general ledger with some accounts payable and accounts
receivable) of private real estate investments held by multiple private equity funds, as well as the books
and records for mid-tier holding companies required to manage these private investments.
Specific responsibilities include...• Manage year-end investment reporting and collection of such data from property
management companies, interact with third-party administrator to coordinate the process and
ensure data integrity and timeliness.• Record and reconcile monthly cash activity for holding companies and legacy investments.• Prepare and record journal entries to track investment activity, including investment
acquisitions and dispositions.• Partner with the tax preparation team providing /coordinating generation of whatever
documentation is required to complete annual returns and K1s.• Assist in year-end custody audits including preparing the financials, responding to audit
requests and prepare supporting schedules.• Assist with treasury functions, such as monitoring bank activity, initiating wires, ACHs and
fund transfers on the various banking platforms.• Complete special projects, as required.
Qualifications include...• Bachelor's Degree in accounting• 2+ years' work experience in commercial real estate• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize, and effectively meet
deadlines working on multiple assignments simultaneously.• Ability to accurately research and follow through on complex problem-solving items, as well
as initiate resolutions.• Strong Excel skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.• Experience with Yardi Voyager is a plus.• Experience with hedge fund or private equity fund accounting is a plus
