Job Title:
Data Center Technician I
Overview: The Data Center Technician I supports the operational integrity, security, and compliance of the data center. As a Tier 1 technician, you will assist with day-to-day operations, including security monitoring, response to site issues, customer support, and coordinating contractor services. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: System Monitoring & Response:
Oversee and address issues in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and security systems, including transformers, generators, UPS, HVAC, and CCTV.
Security & Incident Management:
Provide physical security within the facility, manage access control, handle incident escalation, and report any security breaches.
Customer Service & Support:
Ensure exceptional customer interaction and support, promptly completing service requests and maintaining facility tours.
Documentation & Reporting:
Create detailed incident reports, daily logs, and facility tour summaries.
Special Projects:
Assist with special assignments as directed by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge:
Basic familiarity with data center systems (e.g., electrical distribution, HVAC, CCTV, fire suppression).
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to respond effectively in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
Communication & Reporting:
Able to write clear reports, escalate incidents appropriately, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Tools & Technology:
Proficient with hand and electrical tools, and familiar with software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Flexibility & Accountability:
Willingness to work non-standard hours, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
Education & Experience:
Minimum:
High School Diploma; 1+ years in customer service or security.
Preferred:
Experience in mission-critical facilities.
Requirements:
Successful background check, including criminal history and references.
This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with essential data center operations in a rigorous, process-driven environment.

Compensation:
$23-26/hr
