Job Description

Full-time faculty at Central Carolina Community College facilitate transformative lifelong learning by incorporating discipline-specific learning outcomes through active learning opportunities, lectures, hands-on skill development, assignments, and appropriate classroom management. Faculty provide authentic student assessment that allows students to improve their knowledge and skills with each assignment. Faculty focus on student success by establishing meaningful connections with students early in the semester to support the varying needs of each student throughout the semester.

The Nursing Programs Clinical Coordinator is responsible for managing the clinical planning of all nursing programs. The coordinator will work collaboratively with nursing faculty to ensure equitable opportunities and outcomes are met for all students. The coordinator will provide dedicated and intentional oversight of all clinical affiliates.This position is time-limited. Continuation of position past December 31, 2026

is contingent upon available funding.

Evening and weekend clinical rotations may be required depending on student and faculty needs.

Salary depends on education and experience.

Associate Degree salary range: $65,871 - $75,068

Bachelor's Degree salary range: $69,790 -$79,452

Master's Degree salary range: $73,268 - $82,547

Doctorate Degree salary range: $78,280 - $87,167

Pursuant to House Bill 259, Section 39.23, effective July 1, 2023, the starting annual salaries of nursing faculty positions at CCCC shall be increased by at least 10%. This change is reflected in the salary range posted.

This position is eligible for a $5000 hiring bonus to be paid out in three installments.Please include unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Will be required to submit official copies of transcripts before start date.This position may have occasional travel between campuses and for training. Clinical Coordinator Responsibilities:Assist the department chair with establishing and maintaining relationships with representatives of the clinical sites at which students are placed.Adhere to the policies and requirements of the clinical sites as stipulated in contractual agreements with the college.Serve as liaison between the clinical faculty, the department chair of nursing, and the clinical sites regarding scheduling and coordination of clinical rotations.Assist with hiring, training, and supervising clinical adjunct faculty.Schedule appropriate clinical rotations to assure fair and equal assignments of students for all clinical-related activities including obtainment and assessment of focused care hours.Accompany students to their clinical sites to provide orientation, training, and clinical instruction.Collect, review, and maintain student clinical documents and records. Communicate with students regarding missing or expired documents. Track student clinical hours and verify that clinical hour requirements are met each semester.Visit each clinical site regularly to ensure adequacy of instruction and record keeping.Coordinate meetings each semester of the clinical faculty and clinical site personnel to discuss any clinical concerns with students and improve the delivery of clinical education.Assist the department chair of nursing with the recruitment and interviewing of adjunct clinical faculty.Assist in orienting and mentoring new nursing adjunct clinical faculty, including clinical oversight.Collaborate with the department chair of nursing to assist with the evaluation of the clinical instructional staff and make recommendations toward the improvement of instruction to the clinical faculty, nursing faculty, and chair.Assist in the revision of the clinical handbooks as needed to maintain current applicable policies in alignment with the NCBON Nurse Practice Act.Assist the nurse aid and medical assisting programs that do not have a dedicated clinical coordinator with student placements as needed.Meet quarterly with the other health science clinical coordinators to discuss concerns at the clinical sites.Teaching Responsibilities:

Embrace the institutional goals of Central Carolina Community College by engaging students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to student progression in courses, and supporting and assisting students in achieving their educational and career goals.Use student learning outcomes to create a variety of activities, assignments, and assessments that ensure curriculum goals will be met.Create a dynamic instructional environment that promotes a positive, interactive, and inclusive learning experience for all students.Maintain a Blackboard course with a syllabus and gradebook for each class.Grade all assignments in a timely manner and ensure that all grades are reported within the 10-day college grading policy.Provide personalized and constructive feedback on student assignments by recognizing what students did well and identifying attainable improvements for future work.Respond to all student communication within two business days.Report attendance weekly.Facilitate student learning for instructional loads of 9-12 contact hours per semester.Faculty keep a weekly schedule of 35 hours on campus, including 5 required office hours. Hours on-site may be adjusted based on distance education responsibilities and/or approved telework arrangements.Assume other duties as assigned.Actively support the college's vision of exceptional learning for all.Institutional Responsibilities:

Required Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in nursingNursing faculty must have a graduate degree in nursing within five years of the date of hireRequired Kind and Number of Years of Work Experience:

Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a Registered NurseOther Requirements:

Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel regularly to clinical sites within the college's service area of Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties and the surrounding counties where students are placedRequired License and Certification:

Hold an active unencumbered license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North CarolinaCurrent certification with American Heart Association BLS/CPR with AED for Adult and ChildPreferred Requirements
